I know too :D

for those who want to understand... get the file anigif.tcl from CVS's attic, and read it, it has all the code and info necessary for perfectly rendering any type of anigif (maybe some stuff is not implemented, but the code is still there for us to know what's left to be done...) as I said in an earlier email, the gif file itself contains a field with a flag that specifies what to do :
set first frame (background) then overlay
overlay over the next frame
delete last frame's changes, and overlay (same as overlay on the frame that was there before the previous one)
or set the image as it is...

there is more than just 'overlay or set'

If it is the bug I am thinking to, it is a bug common to a lot of gif
viewers. The problem is that some gifs take advantage of the
transparency and only the first frame contains the complete pictures,
the followings contain only the part that have changed.

So the background should not be reseted when it is supposed to be
transparent ... but then other gifs expect the background to be
reseted.. so there is no real solutions :S

It's OK. I spoke to Phil on PM and he knows EXΑCTLY what he has to do.
However he doesn't have enough time, and it's not an easy thing. So please
everyone stop trying to find what it is and how to solve it, Phil will do
it and he knows :) Thanx for caring anyway
