That, I don't agree.. I realized something, MOST users have their msn
messenger, amsn, chat windows MAXIMIZED.. rare are those (like me) who
make it small to fit in some specific place on their desktop.. I know
even
people who say "sorry, I can't use it unless it's maximized... I got
lost", so I think 5, 6 or even 7 menus are nothing for those people..
and
now, we have 4 menus in amsn and it looks small to me, so adding one
extra
one wouldn't be too much imo.. btw, msn 7.5 has 5 menus..
I know about a lot of ppl having their meus maximised. BUt this doesn't
mean we should add menus just because we have the space, right ? I know
you didn't meant it this way though, so, I don't want to get you
angry ;). Creating a menu for only 2 entries is "Crack". And adding
more options to make it "right" to have yet another menu is thus crack
too.
btw: my design counts 5 menus too ;)
lol, yeah, you got me :p and indeed, that's not what I meant, what I meant
is that having too much useless menus is bloated... having just enough
menus is 'ok', but having more than 'just' enough menus, clear menus, self
explanatory menus, then it's "perfect".. with the design, you say "we
can't afford to add a new menu", what I meant is simply "it's not like I'm
asking for 10 menus", our menus won't overwhelm the users, they are
good....
now, I never said that adding the menu for 2 entries only was necessary, I
said that the initial idea was to have 4 entries at least (enable sound,
plugin/skin chooser, preferences), that seems enough for me for a "simple"
menu, also, we could add menu used options, it's a "Tools" menu, so
plugins could add stuff there... then it will become more usefull... I'm
not saying that we want to add more options to make it "right", I say that
since it's a small menu, we could take advantage of that, and give even
more power to our users...
what I think is "crack" as you say, is to put menu items in a menu they
don't belong to just to make it look minimal...
