yeah, I'm also hoping that there is an export in svn and that it doesn't keep any .svn directory. I'm using the subversion client for linux, command line, 'svn' command (got it with apt-get install subversion)... billiob also asked me on PM "why did it ask me my password only once"... so I'm not the only one here commiting without entering a password... we'll have to look into that, but let's hope it keeps an ssl certificate or something with public/private keys so the authentication fails if the .svn is moved to another pc (with a different certificate)... I know nothing about how it works, so I'm just trying to think about a possibility :D

Thanks, I'll check it. Anyways, I used to do anonymous CVS export, so
I guess there was no .CVS folders in there. I hope same applies for
SVN.

Anyways, I've been using SVN and keeps asking for a password (it
depends on the method used). Maybe is it your SVN client which keeps
the password? ¿tortoisesvn?

Greets!

Hey everyone,
please be cautious!!!
it seems that svn keeps your password and it asks you for the password
only once (the first time you do a commit), so make sure you don't give
access to your amsn directory..
Alvaro, please make sure your .tar.gz doesn't have the .svn directory,
because if it has, and if you did a commit from there.. then the tarball
might have enough information for anyone downloading it to commit anything
to svn...
this also means that if a friend asks you for the latest svn, direct him
to tortoisesvn, or the nightly tarball, but don't tar your own directory!
