today is 0.96 RC1 release.. which means, WAKE UP!!! first, we'll need to review EACH commits since the branching was done.. I flagged some commit messages, and we have a lot of things that went into the trunk and not the 0.96 branch.. each commit should be reviewed to see if it should go in the 0.96 or not and if it should, make sure it was ported to the branch, if not, do it... once all that is done, and we're ready to release, we first create a tag for 0_96_RC1, then package that tag in a .tar.gz.. create the installers (one generic rpm, one .deb, one autopackage, one bitrock... more or less ? remove rpm/deb ? add other distros ?) once it is done.. you know what's to be done... we'll have to talk about whether we should send the info to all users (modify the amsn_version file for the auto version check or not) once the packages are done, tell me... we'll upload to SF, 3 days later, we'll make the release official. this means, 3 days AFTER the packages are ready, so wake up, do it, the faster its done, the faster we get the RC1 out...
