Hello, First, thanks billiob for being the only one to wake up and do something! secondly, I'd like to quickly comment on the implementation. I know it's still in development, so don't mind if I say something you know and already planned on changing... first, I noticed you put a 'deleteOIM' clickable item in the chat window... I think it's wrong, once we disaply an OIM in the chat window, it should be automatically deleted (the same way WLM works), making it a 'delete' makes it non convivial, and users won't understand how they could 'delete' a message they received... (think of OIM as normal messages once it's shown in the CW) Second thing, I noticed a few bugs.. but I guess you'll fix those.. anyways, first, when a user sends a message and he's offline, it shows as an 'saysOIM' .. try it, open an SB, then go as appear offline, then write... those are normal messages and should not be seen as OIMs.. when a user disconnects and you send a message, it fails, to send it as OIM, we have to close the CW, and open a new CW with 'sendoim'... this should switch automatically... the same goes when you receive an OIM, the CW says in the title 'OIM', and if the user comes online and writes to you, it still shows OIM in the title... as I said, the OIMs should be considered as normal messages, no title change, no 'separate oim chatid', it should all appear 100% transparent to the user... with WLM, I send many OIMs without noticing until I read the 'this user is offline' in the top bar... when we write a message to a CW, it should do the same as WLM, try to open an SB, if the CAL answer is 207 (user is offline, cannot join chat), then send the OIM.. sometimes, we might have a user online but appears offline in our CL (happened to vivia lately because of MSN server problems) and last, when we send an OIM, yes, it's a good idea to ask if we want to send the OIM, but if the user answers 'yes', it should keep that setting until the CW is closed or the user comes back online...
I think that's all, apart from that.. great job! I'll probably post more advices, bug reports, later when I try the feature (I just saw it for a couple of minutes) KKRT ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
