I AM having the same problem.
Tck/Tk 8.4, Ubuntu Dapper and Edgy.
I know this is not the right place, but I wanted to confirm the problem
exists. The chat windows sometimes stops responding for a few seconds and
then, all of a sudden, all that I was typing appears sans the accents. In
fact, the chat window hangs when some careted/accented letter is input.
