Not really. It just records everything. It wastes disks space, but reading
it in again shouldn't take very long. I doubt that's a major factor.

No, it justs waits until the system's DNS server times out.

Analog's DNS lookups are rather weak because they only use standard
functions, and the standard functions are not very powerful. I agree with
Jeremy's comment that you probably want to use another tool for the DNS
lookups.
