Our experience is that browsers (especially MSIE but also Netscape) aren't
religious about when a referrer should be applied.
For example, if I type in the URL to a site... then select a bookmark of
another site, the referrer log for the second hit will contain the first
hit.. even though the only commonality is that I visited both.
We've generally found that turning up the referrer floor tunes out anything
except real links to the site. But if you turn down the floor to 0, you'll
see all sorts of random trash ;(
