But of course it will match on too many things- for instance:
'1cust224.tnt1.san-bernardino.ca.da.uu.net'
This is real example from a real logfile, so it's quite likely that
everyone here will eventually see a host like this. (uu.net is pretty big
after all) So, we're back where we started unless someone wants to code
Analog up to recognize more flexible regexes, which would of course slow
things down itself.
I don't know the best solution to this of course, it's one of those
things that "just depends" - but I did want to point it out.
