I have recently created some websites and Analog appears to be a great
solution for providing statistical data. I am not quite familiar how to
access the log files and must ask some dumb questions to get me going.
The web server I use is on a UNIX platform. I would like to maintain control
of customizing the reports, when, where and so on. I want to have easy access
and be able to use Analog on all websites I create. I would prefer to run
Analog on the server, rather than downloading logfiles and running locally,
and then posting to the internet for my clients to view.
Is it best to have the web server place logfiles somewhere in a folder in my
root directory or should I give the code to the server to compile for me
(especially since I'm not too familiar with the language C)? I guess the main
issues are that I want to have access at any time and to have control to
modify the reports at any time. Will I simply need to have permissions set up
with the server to have this access and he would just compile and set up for
me?
You comments are greatly appreciated,
Mark Mendez
