No because IIS does not always include the #Date: header when days change, so
that isn't necessarilly reliable. Putting the date on every line is reliable.

Yes.

The default settings for IIS (4.0 at least) is MicroSoft log format. Which
Analog recognizes without problems or settings.

You don't need to use the preprocessor except to recover logfiles from before
you made the change to support Analog. It makes much more sense to change to
format on the server (adding the date to the items logged by IIS in W3C format
is very simple) than running the preprocessor every night.

As in this?

    1.Some log formats are not very well designed and analog
    can't analyse them reliably. In this case it will give up, usually
    with a helpful message, rather than risk doing a bad job.
    For example, you might get "Logfile with ambiguous dates"
    or "Time without date." In this case you should read the notes
    on all the built-in formats below where some common
    problems with those formats are described.
