Wendy,

I had the same problem, rename the file analog-4.11-etc.tgz to analog-4.11-etc.gz (just changed the extension from .tgz to .gz) then gunzip it and it should work.

I downloaded the precompiled package of Analog for Solaris to my NT workstation and ftp'd it to the /usr/local directory on my Sun Solaris 2.6 box.  According to the directions at http://www.vivtek.com/analog/solaris.html, the file is not supposed to be a gzipped tar archive, but a gzipped package named analog-4.11-etc.gz. The file I downloaded was named analog-4.11-etc.tgz
I gunzipped it, and it became analog-4.11-etc.tar.  When I attempted to tar the file, I got the message:  tar: directory checksum error.
Please help.
