Helllo Jeremy, This is indeed exacty what I have done, the cron job is ran every hour and I am quite happy with that.
At some point or another, I will try to set analog up to do the pie charts through the form ... Thanks for the tip and the information, kindest regards, Bertrand Leroy. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Jeremy Wadsack Sent: 19 August 2002 23:46 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [analog-help] Pie charts not rendered OUTFILE has no significance when run in CGI mode through anlgform.pl. The information is sent to STDOUT (the screen/browser) in CGI always. In order to get charts in the form mode, you MUST set CHARTDIR to the URL where the charts are stored and LOCALCHARTDIR to the *path* where the charts are stored. Analog writes the files to LOCALCHARTDIR and makes links to CHARTDIR in the reports. If these values are not provided, Analog WILL NOT create any charts. If you are not using the form to allow dynamic change of values it usually makes more sense to set up cron to schedule Analog to run once a night (or whatever) during off-peak hours and write the report to a known location as a file. Exactly like the SSH, but the server does it for you. See 'man crontab' on your server or the section in the Analog Helper Applications for Scheduling and automation: http://www.analog.cx/helpers/index.html#sched. -- Jeremy Wadsack Wadsack-Allen Digital Group Bertrand Leroy ([EMAIL PROTECTED]; Saturday, May 18, 2002 5:04 AM): > Hello again, > In addition to my previous email .... > I think I am starting to zoom in onto one of my problems .... > WHat I would really like to achieve is to have the visitors visit the page > mysite/cgi-bin/logs2/analog and see the stats ... my ISP managed to do it > ... he's got mysite/cgi-bin/logs/analog and a beautiful stats page is > produced (however that's v3.31) .... so, I'm trying to reproduce the same > page with version 5.24 > What I've done is the following: > inserted in the analog.cfg the line: > output html > in the hope that running analog would produce the page ... no such luck > though ...
