I'm an Analog user since the early days and have always loved it. Especially the speed. One thing though has always bugged me and that is the fact that it does not report unique visitors.

I know, I know. Unique visitors cannot be counted reliably. I've read the page. But. I STILL want to see the numbers. And I believe my setup allows me to, since I only have dynamic pages. And a unique session id is always generated.

Using Tomcat, I found a way to insert the session id into the access log. Analog's USER report now shows all visitors to the site! It's explained in detail here:
