We use redirects for measuring usage and wanted to be able to report
them in the same way we do for 200 codes.
Analog didn't want to play ball because, as you say, it treats a 302 as
a redirect and will only report it in the redirection report. 
We got round this by adding a bit of preprocessing into the UNCOMPRESS
directive. 
UNCOMPRESS *.gz "/home/df/bin/convert.pl"

Covert.pl is a short script that unzips the log file, reads each line
and converts any 302 to 200 before writing it out again on stdout.

Analog then "sees" these requests as 200's
