We use redirects for measuring usage and wanted to be able to report them in the same way we do for 200 codes. Analog didn't want to play ball because, as you say, it treats a 302 as a redirect and will only report it in the redirection report. We got round this by adding a bit of preprocessing into the UNCOMPRESS directive. UNCOMPRESS *.gz "/home/df/bin/convert.pl"
Covert.pl is a short script that unzips the log file, reads each line and converts any 302 to 200 before writing it out again on stdout. Analog then "sees" these requests as 200's Danny Freedman BBCi :-----Original Message----- :From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:owner-analog- :[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jeremy Wadsack :Sent: 16 March 2004 21:28 :To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] :Subject: Re: [analog-help] Redirects getting missed in request report : : :Requests with a 302 status code are counted in the Redirection report. :See FAQ item http://analog.cx/docs/faq.html#faq181. : : :-- : :Jeremy Wadsack :Wadsack-Allen Digital Group : : :James Riemermann <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (Tuesday, March 16, 2004 :12:52 PM): : :> Hi, : :> There are a large number of redirect pages on my website that Analog is :> missing in its request report, and I think the reason has to do with the :> use of a 302 status code in the logfiles, as opposed to the normal 200 :> status code.
