Niel,

First, thanks for catching the Mozilla/* and Mozilla * entries in the extended robots configuration. I'll add special cases to the script to make sure those aren't in there.

Just to be sure, you did *rerun* Analog and Report Magic after making those changes right?

You could also try running Analog alone (without Report Magic) and adding "SETTINGS ON" to the configuration file (or -settings to the command-line). This will tell you exactly what it is and is not including in the robot definitions and what entries in the OS report are shown.

Finally the GRAPH and CHART commands in Analog have absolutely no effect when used with Report Magic.

Hi Duke

Thanks for the advice - I'm not sure... I haven't altered either of those
settings from the default config. (The only one I touched was
"OSCHARTEXPAND Windows", but it didn't seem to make any difference either
way - at least not that I could tell from inside Report Magic)

The text I see on the OS report says (in its entirety, bar the
description):

---quote---
This report shows all results. This report is sorted by number of requests
for pages.

Operating System Number of requests Number of page requests
     1. Known robots 67 49
----end quote---

So I am guessing that it's probably not excluding any of the requests from its calculations by reasons of Floor level - therefore, it ought to see the differences in OS between browsers. I've searched high and low in case I am using a term or RegEx expression which might be causing every single browser U-A string to be matched as a Robot, but I've not found anything yet.

I have (as a test) removed the include of the CONFIGFILE which contained
the latest robots, and even gone as far as removing the ROBOTINCLUDEs that
were listed in the 'default' config mine was based on. Same result -
everything shows up as a bot in the Operating System report, despite there
being all the following U-As in the same
timeperiod inside the Browser Report:

---quote---
Browser Name Number of requests Number of page requests
     1. Mozila 2 2
     2. Googlebot/2.1 ( http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html) 1 1
     3. Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; iOpus-I-M) 4 1
     4. Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) 10 1
     5. Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/3.0; i686 Linux; 20021019) 1 1
     6. Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; (R1 1.5)) 2 1
---end quote---

Not sure what to try next - Thanks for the leads, though - I will
investigate further.

Regards
Neil

Perhaps OSFLOOR or SUBOSFLOOR is set too low?
