http://analog.cx/docs/logfmt.html#DEFAULTLOGFORMAT
" The times you need to use the DEFAULTLOGFORMAT instead of the LOGFORMAT are if you want to change the format of logfiles which aren't given in a LOGFILE command -- for example, ones specified on the command line, or dragged onto the program icon on a Mac, or compiled in."

You're not specifying a logfile for Analog to match the LOGFORMAT command to - Analog can have multiple different LOGFORMATs applying to different logfiles in a single report, so it doesn't make any assumptions about what data a specific LOGFORMAT command is supposed to apply to. To tell Analog what LOGFORMAT to use for a logfile that is piped in, you must use DEFAULTLOGFORMAT.
