Hello Dominique I looked into it again. I now see the different methods of launching generated different formats. There is however a bug with method (1): You have to switch the active individual to see the change in the gedcom editor. In method (2) the changes appear without any user-interaction.
I guess both formats will have teir fans, there might be even fans for other formats. But having to launch them in different ways is confusing. I would prefer launch method (1) for both formats and a tooltip that shows which format will be generated.
