That seem to work (http://developer.android.com/sdk/1.5_r1/installing.html).
What dies is
if I try to follow the instructions on
http://source.android.com/using-eclipse. In particular,
when I try to "Create project from existing source"  I get the errors I
showed in my reply to Fred.
