Hi,
One of the apps I'm working on will probably end up relying on extra
custom hardware, and I was wondering if/when some kind of low-level
spec (or an API for communicating directly regardless of the hardware
spec) of expansion ports or busses might come out. If there is no
unified design, I may end up relying upon bluetooth communication or
something (whose API has also not been specced or released yet, iirc),
though that would be undesirable because some of the equipment may
need to rely upon subtle ambient EMR balances on the skin as input.

Also, I was wondering if the OHA hardware would be open-spec and
open-standards as well. My application may require design variations
on the normal "smartphone" form factor in its eventual form, and I
would not want to run into bizzare restrictions upon hardware cloning
and modification and such, or hidden "surprises" within the
relationship between the formal spec and the system assumed by the
production-stage Android stack.

Thanks,

~ John
