I apologize if this is the wrong enviroment for this, but I have a suggestion for all the people who are developing apps for the G-1.
For some reason, unlike every other phone out there, this phone DOES NOT turn the backlight on when a message/email/IM arrives. Most phones will turn their backlight on for 3-5 secs to notify you that a message has arrived. The G-1 does not. So you're basically forced to check your phone every few mins if you're in a loud enviroment where you can't hear/feel the audible or vibrate alert. If anyone could develop a way to make the backlight come on for (x) amount of time when there is an alert, I think alot of people would be grateful.
