Hi,

I have an app that needs Beta testers, so if anyone is willing to help out it would be MUCH APPRECIATED :). I have one of the original T-Mobile G1's running 1.6, but I don't have access to any newer Android phones to test on. I was thinking of releasing it on the market just for one day to get some testers, but the people on this group would probably give me much better feedback if you have the time to do it :).

The app is called iHotTonight and it's meant to be used for finding clubs, pubs, restaurants etc. that are HOT that night :).

The BETA version has all of the automated sync functions disabled, but otherwise should be (mostly???) fully functional. Also, I haven't finished all the different layouts, so it will not look 100% on some screens, but what I really want to test with this BETA are the basic functions.

If you can test it, it's available at :

http://ihottonight.com/cellphoneapps/hottonight_free/latest/hottonight_free.apk

The basic idea of the app is that you can join groups in your town/city and send and receive messages to/from those groups about where it's HOT tonight (hence the name). The app will automatically create a group in your town/city when you register if it doesn't already exist, but obviously you would be the only one in your group, and the app is not going to do much if you are the only one in your group. Also, there is already an existing group for every province/state in Canada and the U.S. that you could join.

I should also note that it will only have data if you are in Canada or the U.S., but for BETA testing you could just sign in and set your location to New York city, just so that most testers will find some other users to interact with :). The map functions all work based on the map location, so you can just scroll the map to a Canadian or U.S. location. For other locations, if there are other testers in your province/state you could join the province/state group and maybe have enough messages to work with. FYI.. the more the merrier... so if you have friends with Android phones, feel free to pass the URL on to them.

Anyway, thanks to anyone who tests it. I really will appreciate it... oh.. and if you have the time... could you send me an email letting me know the positives and negatives of the app, along with your phone type and Android software version? There is button on the main screen to send me an email, or reply to my personal email, not this list.... Also, logging is still enabled, so if you have problems and could send me the logs it would be very helpful.....Thanks.

Sincerely,

Brad Gies
