yes
add a couple of attributes in your manifest file
<activity android:name=".blah"
android:screenOrientation="portrait"
android:configChanges="orientation|keyboardHidden" />
and then override a method
@Override
public void onConfigurationChanged(Configuration newConfig) {
//ignore orientation change
super.onConfigurationChanged(newConfig);
}
to ignore any orientation change.
