I have seen ridiculous apps with a hundred or so downloads on this list. That seems to exclude a rational process driven by popularity or download numbers. Of course, I don't mind being alerted to a great app that is just starting out but often one has to wonder what is going here given the quality of some of the featured apps.
And a bit of transparency in this process would greatly increase my trust in the market. At this point my trust is, well, cautious.
