2.2 makes it easier to update all. otherwise if you have a lot of apps and many have regular updates, it is actually quite tedious.
personally every update, pre 2.2. was a time for introspection. do i love/use this app enough to spend the minute or two it will take of my effort to click thru the update process. with, 2.2, at least for the apps that don't change their permissions, it is an easier decision.
