You are right about layout_weight. But the problem is, when I use this
LinearLayout(notes_row.xml) in one of the ListActivity's
setListAdapter() method, the columns are not equally positioned.
please help me on this.....

new SimpleCursorAdapter(this, R.layout.notes_row,
