I think what's happening is each entry in your list is being created using the table layout you defined. So basically you have a list of tables, not a single table with rows, and they're all independent and won't line up. Honestly not sure if this would work with an adapter as you have it. An alternative would be to just create a TableLayout and add each row into it dynamically from the data in your cursor.
