Carrier / manufacturer mods to Android, as well as differences in the hardware. I haven't seen anybody come up with a definitive list, but it would be quite long. Also, if you did not develop your layouts properly, chances are they do not come out correctly on devices with various sizes and resolutions. There is support for that in Android (relative units etc.), and problems of that variety should become apparent when you run the SDK emulator with different AVDs > 2.
