Gautam, I have not done this myself, but read a thread yesterday about having your BroadcastReceiver consume the intent so it doesn't continue propagating.
Try and see if you can find information on that; having your BR eat the Intent so it doesn't continue on to the default SMS handler after it's marked as Spam.
