There is no "task manager" in Android. There is the "recent tasks" list, brought up by a long-press on the HOME button (Android 1.x and 2.x) or a dedicated soft button (Android 3.x). There is the "Running" tab of the Manage Applications screen in Settings on newer versions of Android. Anything else is a third-party application, either from a device manufacturer or an app you installed yourself. > i was > under the impression that if i were to terminate an application there, it > also meant that its related process would end. You cannot "terminate an application" in the recent tasks list. You can stop an application via the Running tab, which should cause its process to end. > Conversely, i believed that > if the process related to an app is running, then it shows up in the Task > Manager. The "recent tasks" list has nothing to do with processes. If an application has a running activity or service, it should appear in the Running tab. -- Mark Murphy (a Commons Guy) http://commonsware.com | http://github.com/commonsguy http://commonsware.com/blog | http://twitter.com/commonsguy _The Busy Coder's Guide to Android Development_ Version 3.6 Available! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
