Hi, I would say it depends on where the Database sits.. And how it is stored..
I have a small project where I do the Search in the backend where I build a SQL Function to find the Distance form the Position.. IF your data is local you could go through the Poinds and use the Location Method: distanceTo, that will return the Distance between your position and another possition.
