1 gb ram is a little less I would say. Whats your processor?
Does the other apps run ok? Or they too are very slow?

Damned, it is pretty useless for programming I think. Just imagine, after
changing a statement I may want to compile to run to see the result;
waiting for 15 minutes to run, that's crazy.
