Hi Alex,

I am not an expert here but starting 3.1 onwards android devices can act
as USB host. So essentially your device can act as the USB device and
can also get powered from the Android phone/tablet. This though has
implications on battery of your android device but in case your USB
device just needs to be connected for small durations, this would be
a perfect path to follow.
