I've also been getting a fair number of these over the last three weeks. Is it Market 3.4.4, the Checkout / Wallet merge, is it something else like a blown out router?
Those who know won't tell, and those who tell (support) don't know. Interestingly enough, these errors used to trigger a cancel notification so the user try again - now sometimes they don't, so the app keeps waiting for the order to complete. From the users point of view, that's adding insult to injury.
