The "menu button" simply changed form and location. Trust me, pre-Honeycomb apps and post-Honeycomb apps that access the menu button work just fine on Honeycomb and ICS. At least, they do on my Acer Iconia A500. And I'm virtually 100% certain that it's the same for all 3.x and 4.0.x devices.
