It seems that in the JB emulator and the JB developer preview, that StrictMode checks are always enabled regardless of what the app sets as a policy with StrictMode.setThreadPolicy(). In particular ThreadPolicy.LAX seems to be ignored. It is not the case in the 4.0.3 emulator.
