Here rings a bell... I had to work on a WebView based app about two years ago and I also noticed the blank-page problem on some devices whereas it worked just fine on others. It turned out that WebView rejected the SSL certificate of the loaded webpage. So if you're loading an HTTPS page this could be an explanation for that problem.
If the server provider / owner of the web page to load does have a valid certificate you need to verify that the certificate information is also consistent and correct (must match the specific domain / subdomain).
