Hello, it seems there is bug in latest nexus 7 software update (JB 4.2.1). With the 3G version there are constant baseband_xmm_power kernel wakelocks, so the tablet cannot enter deep sleep. The problem persists even afer factory reset and when tablet is in airplane mode or the data switched off.
