I have been doing most of my development on an old Dell running Vista. I
have installed apps using both eclipse and adb on two Android devices
without a problem. The two devices are a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" running
Android 2.3.5 and a Motorola Atrix phone running Android 2.3.6.

So recently I bought a new Dell laptop running Windows 8. I installed Java,
Eclipse, Android sdk, and ADT plugin for eclipse. I tried to run an app I
am developing on the Atrix, and Eclipse did not show it as being connected.
I was able to run that same app on my Samsung Galaxy Tab when I tried it.

I just hooked up both Android devices to the Windows 8 laptop with USB
cables and did "adb devices" from the command prompt. The only device it
showed was the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Then I took both devices and hooked them up to my desktop running Vista.
"adb devices" showed both of them.

Could this be a problem that Eclipse and adb have with Windows 8? Or is it
a Motorola Atrix problem? Or is there something special I need to do with
the Atrix. I know that Windows 8 is recognizing my Atrix when I attach it
via USB. I can browse the files on the Atrix from the laptop. I have tried
installing the device drivers from the Windows 8 device manager, and it
says the drivers are already installed.

Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome.
