Future APIs are one thing, using Intents to access existing functionality is another, imho. Voice search is already here, so the question for me is if there are Intents to start the voice recognition Activity and work on with the results. Thank Intents and loose coupling. :)
For my purpose voice recognition would be optional - even if it would break in a future release it would be fine. I would put a try&catch around it anyway. Would this approach (if possible at all) be OK for you?
