Has anyone had an app removed for this purpose? I recently had an app, that's been in the market since 2011 (a live wallpaper that has no ads, requires no permissions), removed and then my appeal was denied with the below message. This was a free app, which also has a paid version that has more features. The relevant part of the agreement is quoted here:
"4.5 Alternative Stores. You may not use the Store to distribute or make available any Product which has a purpose that facilitates the distribution of software applications and games for use on Android devices outside of the Store." So the app had the following things going on that _could_ somehow be tangentially related -- 1) the app is available in the amazon store. 2) the app had links to other wallpapers that I have in the play store, in the preferences. they would open in google play if clicked. I am extremely worried because I have other wallpapers that do the same thing -- and I don't want this to get my entire account suspended. My friend and I have created them to have some fun and earn a little $ with his original artwork, and they provide a modest revenue. I don't want my main bread and butter apps to be threatened by my entire account being suspended, but unfortunately the response to my appeal has no information and now I am feeling the same anxiety other people have expressed. Usually after people ask a bunch of questions it's clear why people were suspended, but really this is making no sense to me. Anyone else have the same thing happen?? Just posting here to compare notes really, not sure what to do next. Adam See appeal response below: "Hi, We have reviewed your appeal and will not be reinstating your app. This decision is final and we will not be responding to any additional emails regarding this removal. If your account is still in good standing and the nature of your app allows for republishing you may consider releasing a new, policy compliant version of your app to Google Play under a new package name. We are unable to comment further on the specific policy basis for this removal or provide guidance on bringing future versions of your app into policy compliance. Instead, please reference the REASON FOR REMOVAL in the initial notification email from Google Play. Please note that additional violations may result in a suspension of your Google Play Developer account.
