I just read this <http://android-developers.blogspot.in/2009/03/window-backgrounds-ui-speed.html> thread. The author from the link said "Removing the background improves the performance quite nicely" and he proved it.
The poster also said "The main reason why this optimization was not implemented is simply because there are usually very few opaque views in Android applications. This is however something that I definitely plan on implementing as soon as possible and I can only apologize for not having been able to do this earlier." The document was written in 2009, so I'm not sure if I still need to do the trick myself. I'm also developing a unity app, so am thinking of adding the optimization if it makes any difference. Anybody knows? The trick is still valid? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
