Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst

By taking a proactive role in software management we strive to get the
most out of the software assets in-use at the organization. The SAM
analyst will be involved in managing and optimizing the purchase,
deployment, maintenance, utilization and harvesting of software
licenses within the organization.

We are looking for an innovative, hands-on and customer-obsessed
analyst to join the SAM team. The SAM team owns the tail-end of the
global software spend at the organization; managing day to day
requests from internal employees, building processes for efficient
deployment and procurement of licenses, minimizing legal risk
throughout the entire workflow, and finding new methods to ensure
we’re optimizing the IT infrastructure in all stages of the software
lifecycle.

The SAM analyst will work with internal stakeholders to understand key
requirements, and ensure the software conforms to company policies
while working with external vendors to complete the procurement of
licenses with a focus on delivery speed. They will act as a
coordinator across multiple teams, providing oversight, feedback and
roll-up reporting to stakeholders and management. They will work to
identify and improve operational processes, including workflow
management, case handling, and limited technical troubleshooting.

We’re looking for a creative analyst with excellent analytical
abilities across business and technology, attention to detail, strong
ownership, organization skills, and clear communication.
*Responsibilities*

   -
   Manage day to day requests from end-users to fulfill software
licensing needs and submit RFQs and POs as necessary.
   -
   Understand user requirements and be able to advise on the best
potential software solution.
   -
   Run monthly software portal audits and regular true-up schedules
ensuring the company is within compliance of license agreements.
   -
   Work with external vendors and suppliers to ensure quick delivery
with efficient cost savings.
   -
   Be able to effectively communicate with multiple teams including
Legal, Finance, Security etc.
   -
   Provide status updates to stakeholders diligently following up to
meet the business SLA.
   -
   Accurately update the asset management database/spreadsheet as new
purchases are made.
   -
   Analyze deployment data and create standardized processes to drive
continued operational improvements and improve process efficiency.
   - Update playbooks with process adjustments and new implementations.

*Preferred Qualifications*

   - 2-4 years of experience in software licensing models.
   -
   Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, or Business.
   -
   Analytically-minded, logical thinker with strong problem solving
skills and ability to make trade-offs while recognizing gaps and
inefficiencies in the process, improving them on a rolling basis.
   -
   Excellent spreadsheet modeling, presentation, and SQL skills;
statistical, quantitative modeling and forecasting skills with
experience of working with large and complex data sets.
   -
   Working knowledge of HTML and CSS to update playbooks as the
process is optimized.
   - Have experience working with external vendors and suppliers.
   -
   Ability to define projects and execute within timelines and with
multiple stakeholders. Proven ability to deliver projects on time and
within budget.


*Minimum Qualifications*

   - 1+ years of analytical or procurement work experience.
   -
   Team player and self starter with strong interpersonal and solution
oriented attitude, and an ability to effectively operate with high
energy and flexibility in a fast paced, constantly evolving team
environment.
   -
   Be comfortable managing multiple deadlines and know how to
prioritize under pressure.
   -
   Demonstrated ability to synthesize information and see the big
picture while effectively managing details.
   -
   Be familiar with software licensing models to distinguish what is
being requested and what is being purchased.
   - Able to recognize the difference between SaaS, VPN and P2P software.
   - Understand the procurement cycle and be familiar with RFQs, POs etc.
   -
   Understand Google Business Apps - Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Hangouts, Keep etc.
   - Have a strong understanding of technology.
   -
   Excellent customer service skills to provide a pleasant and
enjoyable experience while minimizing escalations to the Team Lead.
