Must have an IT background *Systems Engineer* *Job Description-* We are looking for an enthusiastic external consultant to join the IT Early Solutions team. The team is responsible for all the IT Scientific systems used by the Early Solutions department of UCB (early drug discovery till pre-clinical/early phase). You will be part of a Global IT ES team (UK, Belgium, US) and working within a larger IT organization worldwide. You will be interacting with laboratory and data scientists mostly from US (Boston, Seattle and Durham) but also from UK and Belgium. You will be based in the UCB Boston office, located in Bedford Massachusetts. Business trips to other US sites might be required. Your role is to ensure the system delivery and operational support of scientific software and applications related to research activities in Protein operations, OMICS, High Content Screening, Imaging… Due to the nature of the specialized scientific systems involved, we are looking for someone who can solve IT-related problems as part of a wider team with domain experts, but is able to work independently if need be. You will be working at the crossroads of science and IT technology, enabling our scientist in making breakthrough discoveries by implementing & supporting state of-the-art software and IT technologies. *Project Support for Scientific Systems delivery* • Support projects for the implementation or upgrade of computerized systems (research labs equipment-related software or scientific software) • Capture the needs with scientists and liaise with internal support across the Global IT organization or external support • Coordinate, communicate and follow-up the activities with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders (e.g. key-users and IT teams) • Plan & execute installation, testing and/or validation and data migration (when applicable) of the system • Deliver documentations when applicable (e.g system design, specifications, supporting documents, instructions & guides) • Capture knowledge from Vendor into UCB documentation • Ensure the operational support of applications in Early Solutions *Software & Application Support* • Level 2 and 3 support of application and scientific systems (labs software, acquisition/analytics, data management, logistics) • Contact with Third party/vendor Support team • Execute installation, testing and/or validation and data migration (when applicable) of the system • Deliver documentations when applicable (e.g system design, specifications, supporting documents, instructions & guides) • Capture knowledge from Vendor into UCB documentation • Ensure the operational support of applications in Early Solutions (user access management, licensing) • Scientific development (e.
