Hm, if the workaround you suggest is slow, maybe I am better off with writing the image to a byte buffer and taking its size after all? I just tested that solution, and it was much faster than I expected. Since I upload images in a background service, it may not even be a noticeable overhead to the user. But still, this is an annoyance, did you already raise a bug for this?
