I solved this by using setFadingEdgeLength and setVerticalFadingEdgeEnabled. I also had to override getBottomFadingEdgeStrength/getTopFadingEdgeStrength. Is this the correct way of doing it? My ViewGroup handles scrolling internally, so I cannot use the fact the Views get faded edges on regular scrolling
