Wow, thanks Michael, I wasn't aware that there were so many reports of
Droids crashing, with as I am writing this 222 replies to that single
thread https://supportforums.motorola.com/thread/16278 that you refer
to. There is a little "comfort" in that Droids crash also without my
app's "help", as I have only one crash event report until now. Still,
from your link I decided to also post on the Motorola support forums,
because apart from bugs or defective hardware in the Droid it is also
conceivable that there are race conditions that only show up one some
(e.g., faster) devices. For instance, occasionally I get a black
screen on the emulator at app startup in WVGA mode, while my app
otherwise keeps running and responding normally (which I can judge
from its sounds and how these change with key commands), suggesting
that there could exist race conditions in how my app (or Android) sets
up the screen view. In any case I need more feedback from users of
healthy Droids to learn whether the problem is reproducable and if so
what exactly goes wrong.
