Wow, thanks Michael, I wasn't aware that there were so many reports of Droids crashing, with as I am writing this 222 replies to that single thread https://supportforums.motorola.com/thread/16278 that you refer to. There is a little "comfort" in that Droids crash also without my app's "help", as I have only one crash event report until now. Still, from your link I decided to also post on the Motorola support forums, because apart from bugs or defective hardware in the Droid it is also conceivable that there are race conditions that only show up one some (e.g., faster) devices. For instance, occasionally I get a black screen on the emulator at app startup in WVGA mode, while my app otherwise keeps running and responding normally (which I can judge from its sounds and how these change with key commands), suggesting that there could exist race conditions in how my app (or Android) sets up the screen view. In any case I need more feedback from users of healthy Droids to learn whether the problem is reproducable and if so what exactly goes wrong.
