At least one way is to login to the device using the Android Debug Bridge (http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/adb.html) and locate the db on disk. I know it works on the emulator, and I'm pretty sure it works on a physical device as well.
When the device is connected up, use 'adb devices' to show what devices that the adb can connect to. Then do a 'adb -s <device-name> shell' command to get to the command line. Usually the databases will be in /data/data/<package-name>/databases Try deleting using the command line (rm). Let me know if this works for you.
