If you're budget conscious, get a Droid. You can buy on on eBay for $250-300. More Android users have Droids than any other device. Only a handful of N1's were sold. If you're not a Verizon customer and want to use the thing as a phone, you can get a Milestone (Droid with GSM) instead for about the same price as the N1. Since you're going to use this to test your app, you probably should go with a device that is the most common.
