I think you missed something on the 30%. The 30% “goes to carriers and 
billing settlement fees". If Google checkout is handling the payments 
you can bet there is a profit being out of the settlement fees (even if 
it's $0.01 per transaction that can still be a fair profit given the 
volume).

Every app not listed may be an opportunity for alternative outlets, but 
given the current economic climate, if it's a non-revenue generating 
listing that costs in bandwidth then Google may be more than happy to 
share :).
